HISTORYHISTORY GALLERY CONTACTS EVENTS LINKS GUESTBOOK HOME The Borderlords MCC HistoryThe Border Lords MCC was conceived over 26 years ago, the name of the club was taken and adapted from a Kris Kristofferson album called “Border Lord” and suggested by Mousey Monaghan and Cyril Gibson as the name for this “new” club.Members originate from Co. Cavan, Co. Fermanagh and Co. Monaghan. Some of the original founder members are still in the club! In its infancy the meetings were held in an old thatched barn in Treeho Cross, Between Redhills and Cootehill. From those humble beginnings there was a great sense of commodariary and the only thoughts in most minds were:- get paid, get drunk! Enjoyment was found at the many fleadhs, festivals and the odd rally throughout the country. Having the craic was essential!......Since those early, drunken, hazy days the club has grown, dwindled and grown again.Lifelong friendships were born and flourished, everyone had the same ideas, riding their bikes and enjoying themselves and massive partying in the process! The club has stood the test of time, members left and returned after their travels, and some unfortunately will never return. The Border Lords MCC has been versatile throughout those years and seen many changes and now is in a strong position membership wise. It has forged many new friendships with other clubs in Ireland and the UK and one of the first clubs the Border Lords MCC partied with were the “Wine Riders” from Drogheda . Sound bunch of lads.
